FAQ

What is SaaS? How does this relate to Polar?

SaaS or Software as a Service involves a centrally hosted platform that performs resource-intensive calculations. In Polar's instance, the SaaS model is achieved through cloud checks, which significantly reduce CPU usage, as fewer calculations are performed by the plugin.

Are all checks cloud-based?

No. Checks that require real-time setbacks (such as movement) are performed within the plugin and are not processed on the cloud.

What Minecraft versions does Polar support?
Does Polar support modern servers running old combat mechanics?

Yes.

Does Polar support Via plugins?

Yes, Polar has been tested with Via plugins.

What VL should I ban/punish the player at?

Due to the nature of cloud checks, we do not recommend server staff manually issuing punishments to players.

It is best to let Polar decide. This limits the amount of false punishments that may occur, as Polar only bans when the anticheat is certain a suspect is cheating.

What are the recommended specs to run Polar?
  • No less than 2 CPU cores per server instance

  • No less than 50MB RAM per player and no less than 4GB overall

What are the mandatory specs required to run Polar?
  • x86_64 CPU

  • Linux or Windows Operating System

  • Active, uninterrupted internet connection

Yes, however, having different mount points, network adapters or limited numbers of cores/threads may cause the HWID to differ.

Yes, however, each server may have a unique HWID.

Can bedrock players be exempted?

Bedrock exemption is built into Polar. Ensure that Floodgate is installed on all backend servers and player data is forwarded properly.

Is Folia supported?

No, and we do not have any plans to support it in the near future.
